Self-Esteem

I don't think we have to worry about Payton's self esteem just yet.

I had just finished combing Payton's hair & went to go get dressed for church & heard her talking to herself. Once I realized what she was saying I ran to get the camera.

First Day of Preschool

Payton has started Preschool & she loves it!

This was her first day of school. She was so excited to use her backpack (but hasn't used it since).

Luckily I was able to convince her that Teddy Bear needed to stay in the car.

Here she is waiting outside of the classroom to be let in. I was a little nervous because she usually doesn't easily let me leave her anywhere. Donald has the job of dropping her off to Primary because the one time I did she was in tears when I tried to leave. So I was hoping not to repeat that if I could help it. So I signed her in & she had to go find her name & a name badge. She wanted me to come with her to see the toys.

The first thing she saw was the play dough. About 2 seconds after I took this picture she said, "okay it's time for you to go now Mom." With a smile on my face & a sense of triumph I left her in her class & enjoy the fastest 3 hours I have ever had. I am so glad that we signed her up for this & she loves it!

Kristin's Back at school

It was fun having Kristin home for the summer. Payton was always so happy to see her when we'd go up to Mom's house.

We will miss you.... have fun at school!

The River... w/o water can be fun.

Last Saturday we had an hour to kill before bedtime & Payton has been talking about going back to the river for a while now. Unfortunately there was no water but we can have fun without it. We collected lots of rocks to paint.

And climbed on lots of rocks.

And when we got home Payton told me that he tummy was hurting & she looked a little pale so I took her into the bathroom without finishing to get her PJ's on. I sat on a stool & she sat on my lap. She was squirming all over the place & she finally told me to put my hand out & she layed her head on it. Within 10 seconds she was out cold! Yeah 10 seconds! I had to holler for Donald because I couldn't get up off of a stool that low.

I guess she was more tired than we thought! So cute!

Payton loves to craft too

While out running errands the other day with her Grandma Payton 'acquired' some new stickers (.99c from Target). She wanted to put it on a picture frame ($1.00 from Walmart) just like she did for her dad for a Fathers Day. So I printed out a picture for her using our color printer on regular white paper.
I folded the paper instead of cutting it so it would stay in the frame better & Payton helped me to get the picture in. She quickly decided that this part was my job & she would stick the stickers on.
She then chose the stickers she wanted & I helped her decide where to place them. She wanted to place all of the stickers on her head... I'm all for creativity but come on. Luckily she was easy to persuade.
So cute. Payton was so proud that she carried it around showing it to any one who came by. She was so excited to show Grandma what she made with the stickers they got that we went up to their house that night.
Yes she's following in her mama's footsteps!
Since this went over so well I bought some more frames from Walmart & now I just have to find pictures & stickers that have a similar theme.
This is super cute, easy & cheap. You should give it a try. The best part is that the frame is acrylic so it didn't break any of the times Payton dropped it while showing it off.

The Sky is Falling

I came home from church one Sunday & look what I found. I was very upset because I was worried that my Plumeria plant was in the middle of all of it!
The plumeria plant faired better than most of them. This little guy came down with the tree too. It's the smallest one that I have ever seen.
So I moved my plants out of the way & they ended up in a place where they got more sun than they were used to. I lost 8 of my little flowery plants. :(
One of my plants completely snapped into pieces but luckily it's one of those that will re-root in water so that's where this one is for the moment.
So now a whole month & a half later the plants that survived have been moved back to their spot. I don't know if you can tell but the plumeria plan in the back now has white leaves instead of green. Yeah so something is going on with it & I'll have to figure it out.
So yippee for getting my plants back in their place & having our nice view back! Payton helped me to rearrange everything & I love it.
