Huntington Beach

We went down to Huntington Beach yesterday. My mom's friend was in town so we went to go visit with her & spend some time on the beach. Last time Payton had a fun time at the beach, since then something must have changed. She didn't want to touch the sand or walk on the sand even with her water shoes on. We wend down to the water & got her feet wet & we walked back some sand got on the top of her shoes & she was distressed. She went to go wipe it off but then it was on her hand which wasn't what she wanted either. So she just sat with us until she got tired. Mom got her to sleep & she slept in the stroller for around 2 hours. That is longer than some of her naps at home have been. She was all wrapped up because it was so windy & in the shade it would get a little cold. She was a little confused when she woke up (which was very cute!) & cuddled for a while, which is always nice. After her nap she hadn't warmed up to the sand. I hoped that it was because she was tired but no such luck. Kristin ended up taking her down to the water's edge & she didn't move.
Look mom, waves! She sat there & stared at the waves.
Her feet never adjusted once Kristin placed her feet on the sand. She is so quirky!
Here she really wanted to come over to me so that I would take her back but she had to walk over to me so she stayed right where she was. I'm such a mean mommy!
One word (or sound) will help to understand this picture. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHH" She was complaining that I wouldn't come to get her.
Payton was mesmerized by the waves! Or maybe she was keeping an eye out for the water.
I'd like to think that Payton had a good time even though she really didn't do ANYTHING while we were there.
Here comes the water... it didn't end up getting all the way up to her though.
That is the closet thing to a smile we got while she was that close to the water, while a body part was touching the sand!
I guess the moral of the story is that we have to go again soon so that she can get used to it.
