As soon as we found out Donald got into Cornell we looked up where we were going to be living on google maps. We are literally surrounded by trees. Payton automatically started saying it was the 'Spooky Forest' from a Bernstein Bears book. I kept trying to tell her it was like the forest in Sleeping Beauty (& not Snow White, which she had watched just the begining of the night before, yep great timing!).
So the day after we arrived we set out to explore. We heard there was a trail at the end of the complex into the woods & decided to check it out. We loaded Katie in the backpack, which she LOVED & we were off.I was very impressed how well the trail was maintained. It was a warm & humid day but it was really nice under & amongst all of the trees.
Katie lasted only about 15 mintues & then she was out cold.
I'm still getting used to how green everything is here. We've had a lot of rain & some good thunderstorms since we've been here. So far we love it & are having a lot of fun. I say so far because it's not cold yet & everyone just smiles & says 'your definition of cold will be modified soon enough'. The smiles makes me nervous, but like everything else in life you have to adapt (says the person who still thinks of cold as the inside of the freezer). :)
