4th of July

Our ward had a breakfast & bike parade on the 3rd. Payton was so excited about it that we actually put the flags on her bike 1 week before & the bike became known as her "American Bike". As soon as the flags where off the bike was demoted back to just "Bike" & was said with no enthusiasm at all.
Payton loved to ride her bike where the cars usually drive! Or at least that is what she kept saying on our way home afterwards.
Katie was a very good girl. She slept thru the whole breakfast & parade. When she started to wake up it was time to go.

Melissa & Tyler where in town for the 4th & we decided that we would rather stay home instead of deal with over tired kids the next morning. I did go out to my parents back yard & look at the fireworks all over the valley. They were all very small but that didn't matter because I was in my PJ's, playing cards & not dealing with crowds, so if that makes me an official old fart then bring it on! :)

I did go in & get Payton (who wasn't asleep yet) & took her to the backyard to watch them. The whole time she kept saying that it was bedtime & wanted to know why people were out when it was bedtime. She wasn't too concerned because as soon as I said that she could go inside if she wanted she was on the bandwaggon to stay outside, in the dark, watching fireworks that really weren't all that exciting from so far away. She's no dummy!
