LA County Fair

Friday, September 21, 2007

On Wednesday we went to the LA County Fair. We had high hopes to get Payton up early so that she would take an early nap but we didn't even get up until 8/8:15 so that was shot. So she ended up not taking a nap & it went well.

We started out by eating In & Out before we left. She loves her Cheeseburger Ketchup Only! We had that because I knew that she would eat a lot of it & she did. I can handle a tired kid just not a hungry tired kid!She was already getting a little goofy.
They had a winter wonderland building. There were a bunch of christmas shops & in the back they had an ice skating rink & this platform with "snow" (ice) & we put Payton up there.
She was so funny about touching it.
Even after she knew that it was cold she would hold it again & again, each time being silly about the fact that it was cold.
Next door the forest rangers had a Wilderness area. They had the mountain mules. They were so calm!
Payton was so curious & they seemed to be equally curious about her too.
She didn't want to leave them but she didn't cry which I was fully expecting.
We went over to see the horses but she didn't want to get down.
It wasn't hot but Donald still enjoyed pushing Payton thru the mist.
So we did a lot of other things but didn't pull out the camera. We did see the Budweiser Clydesdale horses & she got a kick out of that. We also saw a Dalmatian getting his bling put on.

The day went really well. She did really well considering that she didn't nap. We were hoping that she would fall asleep but no such luck. When we got back to the car we were unpacking the stroller & Payton saw the socks that we packed for her just in case it got cold. So we put them on her hands & the silliness came back!
She was so funny. She kept them on for 20 minutes.
Here is a video that Donald took in the back seat. (1309)

I do think that it was fun but if the sun would have been shinning it would have been different. When we go we walk thru the different building/markets & then maybe do one quick walk thru the carnival part. If you go after 5p it is only $5 per person (kids free). I enjoy it & think you would too. I do recommend going as soon as you can. The closer you go to the end of the fair the busier it gets (even before 5p).
